Becoming

Always unfinished. A self in motion. A dance performance on an identity that never lets itself be fully grasped, by Maria Macionga.

Becoming begins from a question with no answer: can we ever truly know who we are? A person changes ceaselessly throughout life — identity never settles, it stays forever in the making.

The piece follows a young woman through a succession of experiences that transform her, leaving visible and invisible traces on her sense of self. Each passage returns her different, never finished.

Directed and choreographed by Maria Macionga, with an original score by Aleksandra Kmiecik. Performed by Chiara Petraroli, Giulia Sciolla, Anita Gramolini, Ketryn Nagua, Danny Saraceni, Rebecca Zanzi and Emanuele Travaini, from Kataklò Academy.
